 ³º  The fourth COD title for mobile comes by way of Glu as it was         º ³
 ³º  previously in the hands of a different publisher. Not sure and        º ³
 ³º  really dont care how or why this came about, since the most           º ³
 ³º  important aspect is whether it continues to be a solid franchise      º ³
 ³º  for wireless, and that it does.                                       º ³
 ³º  Subtitled Modern Warfare, this wireless title is actually a prequel   º ³
 ³º  to the console game bearing the same name. Like that title, you are   º ³
 ³º  no longer part of a WWII regiment, instead playing the role of        º ³
 ³º  troops in modern day combat.                                          º ³
 ³º  Tied together with a dramatic storyline, the different mission        º ³
 ³º  types consist of shooting, sniper, stealth and escort. In each, you   º ³
 ³º  have unlimited ammo and regenerative health but its important to      º ³
 ³º  keep track of these, for reloading or low health can put you          º ³
 ³º  perilously close to death during combat. (Health goes down            º ³
 ³º  mercilessly when fighting more than one assailant.) A few extra       º ³
 ³º  weapons can be picked up as well, like grenades or a bazooka, but     º ³
 ³º  these arent freely usable, only in certain areas.                     º ³
 ³º  As with other similar titles, the game offers features during         º ³
 ³º  combat to make it more enticing. The use of cover is important and    º ³
 ³º  here you can hide behind sandbags to pop out and shoot, but you can   º ³
 ³º  also stand close to the edge of a wall and pop out from there.        º ³
 ³º  Running up to an enemy calls out a melee attack with the butt of      º ³
 ³º  your gun, but nothing is as satisfying as taking them out using the   º ³
 ³º  scope. With all of this however, you might still just opt to stand    º ³
 ³º  in the face of fire knowing you can retreat and regenerate.           º ³
 ³º  The good thing about all of this is that its all handled with one     º ³
 ³º  thumb, except for when calling into action an extra weapon such as    º ³
 ³º  the scope or grenades. Hiding behind cover is automatic once you      º ³
 ³º  run up against the barrier, and so is targeting the enemy, though     º ³
 ³º  you can also choose between enemies yourself. While the game does     º ³
 ³º  lack some color and detail to characters, the actual visual and       º ³
 ³º  sound effects used throughout are outstanding.                        º ³
 ³º  COD 4 Modern Warfare allows you to select from individual missions    º ³
 ³º  after they are completed in Story for extra playing time, but thats   º ³
 ³º  about as far as the experience goes. There are some tough levels to   º ³
 ³º  crack (Escort), and those that seem easy if you choose to approach    º ³
 ³º  cautiously. The different features it employs for combat should now   º ³
 ³º  be standard for any game of this type and its good to see that they   º ³
 ³º  havent been left out. One item of note is that this COD title puts    º ³
 ³º  more emphasis on individuality as opposed to the team combat of the   º ³
 ³º  past, though there are still support members, and that really makes   º ³
 ³º  the game feel more authentic. Still, if you already enjoy combat      º ³
 ³º  action games on mobile, this would be another one to experience       º ³
 ³º  without hesitation.                                                   º ³
